Tour meets at the Old Schwamb Mill, 17 Mill Lane, Arlington Heights, MA.

Directions: Bus service is available. From Harvard Square, take MBTA Bus No. 77 and get off at the Appleton/Mass. Ave. stop in Arlington Heights. Walk west via Mass. Ave. and turn right onto Lowell Street. Mill Lane is the second street on the right. Parking is also available.

SPONSORED by Walking in Arlington, Old Schwamb Mill, and the VSA/NE, this tour will explore a little known early 20th century neighborhood with Scottish street names and modest residences that provide evidence of local carpenters delightfully quirky and charming interpretations of the Colonial Revival, Bungalow and Craftsman styles.
        We’ll pass through the Arlington Heights commercial district and discuss the Arlington Land Company development of the early 1870s that marked the beginning of the suburbanization of Arlington Heights. A light breakfast at the Mill precedes the walk.
